Dr. Mazen NoureddinOur guests today are Mazen Noureddin, MD, MHSc, the founding director of the Fatty Liver Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and  Donna R. Cryer, JD, the founder, and CEO of the Global Liver Institute. Our guests will explain why patients may have more choices than they realize, and in some cases, patients may be able to get a diagnosis of their liver condition without an invasive procedure.

Mazen Noureddin, MD, MHSc, is the founding director of the Fatty Liver Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. His focus is on clinical and translational research in the area of NAFLD. Dr. Noureddin has conducted more than 30 investigational clinical studies of novel treatments for NASH. In addition, he has an interest in non-invasive testing and biomarkers of the field, especially metabolomics, serum biomarkers, trainset elastography, and magnetic resonance imaging techniques. Dr. Noureddin has published in all these areas. He is a member of the Liver Forum (FDA-AASLD-Academic Colloquium), standardizing pathways to translate therapeutic agents to clinical practice.

Donna Kryer Donna R. Cryer, JD, is the founder and CEO of the Global Liver Institute (GLI), the only patient-driven liver health non-profit operating in the US and Europe. She has channeled her personal experience as an IBD patient and  25-year liver transplant recipient into professional advocacy across a career in law, policy, consulting, public relations, clinical trial recruitment, and nonprofit management. Taylor Holgate, is the  Director, Government Affairs, Consumer Healthcare Products Association. Ms. Holgate is responsible for developing and implementing federal lobbying strategies on behalf of CHPA and its member companies. Prior to joining CHPA, Holgate worked in the U.S. Senate where she most recently served as press secretary to Senator Richard Burr (R-N.C.) handling communications for the Senator’s personal office and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Holgate also worked for the Senate Republican Policy Committee under Chairman John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) and for Senator Jeff Chiesa (R-N.J.).
