Our guest today is Sid Eppes the Chairman of the AirPower Foundation, an all-volunteer organization supporting our military. Each year they raise funds through their annual AirPower Foundation Sky Ball event. He serves as Chairman of Sky Ball, our nation’s largest military fundraiser. Last year they were able to fund over 72 organizations to benefit our troops and their families.
Sid served as Chairman of the Fort Worth AirPower Council, the oldest civilian-military support organization in the United States. He is the first Honorary Commander of the 301st Fighter Wing, Joint Reserve Base, Fort Worth, Texas. Sid travels extensively representing the AirPower Foundation in developing and maintaining relationships with our military.
He is a lifelong resident of Arlington, Texas. After attending the University of Texas at Arlington, Sid began a 40-year career in business working in senior management for Tandy Corporation, real estate development for Trammel Crow, and CEO for oil & gas and real estate companies. In 1995 he founded Southwest Networks Inc., a fiber optic, voice, and data wiring company. In 2008 he sold his business and retired to begin his volunteer work.
